  1. NATIONAL WELLNESS MONTH. How’s Your Wellness Score?

August is National Wellness Month—which makes it a great time to check in with yourself.

But we’re not talking about the scale, a stopwatch, or a list of things you “should” be doing.

Instead, ask yourself a few simple questions. Give yourself one point for every “yes.”

I strength train at least twice a week.
Strong muscles help you climb stairs, carry groceries, get up from the floor, and stay independent for years to come.

I move every day, even if it’s just a walk.
Walking, gardening, playing pickleball, or simply staying active throughout the day all count.

I regularly eat fruits and vegetables.
Healthy eating doesn’t have to be perfect. Consistent, balanced choices can help support your energy, strength, and overall wellness.

I usually get seven to eight hours of sleep.
Quality sleep supports energy, recovery, mood, memory, and overall health.

I spend time with people I enjoy.
Friends, family, workout partners, and community all play an important role in staying connected and motivated.

    I make time to laugh.
Whether it’s time with family, a funny movie, or a favorite activity, don’t underestimate the value of enjoying life.

    I spend time outside.
Walking, gardening, or simply getting some fresh air can be a great way to stay active and reset.

I have something I’m looking forward to.
A trip, a pickleball game, dinner with friends, or simply something fun on the calendar can give you something to look forward to.

    Your Score

7–8 points: Nice work! You’re building habits that support long-term wellness.

4–6 points: You’re on the right track. Choose one area you’d like to improve and start there.

0–3 points: You don’t have to change everything at once. Pick one healthy habit and build from there.

    That’s really how wellness works.

One good choice leads to another.

And if you’re looking for a strong place to start, consider strength training.

Strength training can help support your muscles and bones, improve balance, make everyday activities easier, and help you stay active and independent as you age.

At YPB Training Studio, our goal isn’t just to help you work out.

We want to help you stay strong for life.

💪 So, what’s one area of your wellness you’re focusing on this month?
