  1. Exercise & Parkinson’s: Moving Toward Better Living

April is Parkinson’s Disease Awareness Month, making it a meaningful time to highlight how movement can support quality of life.

Parkinson’s affects movement, balance, and coordination. While there is currently no cure, research consistently shows that regular exercise can play a powerful role in managing symptoms and supporting overall well-being.

At YPB Training Studio, we believe movement is one of the most powerful tools we have — at any age, and at any stage of life.

    Consistent exercise can help:
    ✔ Improve strength and flexibility
    ✔ Support balance and coordination
    ✔ Boost mood and confidence
    ✔ Maintain independence

The Parkinson’s Foundation emphasizes that any consistent movement is beneficial, and we fully support that approach.

    Some recommended activities include:
    • Walking, cycling, and swimming
    • Dancing (great for coordination and cognitive function)
    • Strength training
    • Tai chi and yoga for balance

Programs like non-contact boxing have also gained attention for helping improve agility, coordination, and endurance — all key areas affected by Parkinson’s.

For those living with Parkinson’s, the goal isn’t perfection — it’s consistency, safety, and staying as active as possible.

We’re here to support that journey with guided training that meets you where you are and helps you keep moving forward.
