    You’ve heard me say it before, “You are not your body”! This sounds funny coming from a fitness professional. I’m learning this through hard sought after balance in my own life. We are spiritual beings on a human journey.
    Commitment is that which gives you permission to agree with yourself to adhere to practices that give you the health and fitness you are seeking.

     

    1. For some, beginning a health and fitness regime may seem daunting. There are many individual reasons for this. A sincere commitment may facilitate your sought after benefits.
    2. When desires or temptations rise to pull you in other directions, a commitment may help keep you going towards the promise to take better care of yourself.
    3. New to taking care of yourself? Curiosity may bring you far enough to see what it will take. When you are committed to your health and fitness for even a short time, four to six weeks for example, chances are you will want to continue.
    4. It is your commitment that may strengthen your resolve and encourage the necessary discipline to continue on this path. To say, “I’ll try” only leads to failure. To be committed assures the possibility of success.
    5. Committed to your health and fitness, you never say, “I’ll try it.” You say, “I will do it.” Success is your commitment in doing, not trying. Trying gives you a way out, doing gives you a way in!
    6. Commitment gives you the freedom to open your heart and mind to all that is available to you.
    7. Commitment keeps you faithful to health and fitness regime until your regime is as necessary as breathing.
    8. The stronger the commitment, the quicker and more dramatic the results will be.
    9. Commitment helps you stay in the present, and may help you to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
    10. Whether you have 10 to100 or more pounds to lose, a steadfast commitment may reap its rewards in the awaking activity of the help of the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus Christ.
