“My name is John Keys, 55+. I’m a lifelong resident of Corpus Christi, born and raised. About 10 years ago, I was a client of Lisa’s before she was a Functional Aging Specialist. I ran into her again last July at the grocery store in line. We talked for a little while, went out to the parking lot, and she asked me what I was doing physically. I told her I was working out at a couple of different places and I had a home gym that was okay. She gave me a copy of her book, and I took it home. I read it in about an hour and proceeded to do her trial three-week period and became a member in August of last year.”
“Some of the milestones I have achieved is that I have dropped a lot of cholesterol in the last six months. I just had a physical this past week, as a matter of fact, so the numbers all look good there. I’ve been feeling stronger. I’ve lost just less than 10 pounds from my peak probably late last year, early this year. I feel a lot better in that respect and I’ve gained strength, overall.
The results truly make me feel better, more confident, but probably, more importantly, they make me feel motivated to keep going. I’ve been places where I just lose the motivation. Due to the environment here and the wonderful trainers, like Juan, I just feel more motivated than ever because of the results, which show.
This has been more than a life changing experience. For me, it’s been life enhancing because it’s just added on another layer to my life that is very positive and with a sense of overall feeling better.
As far as what the transformation has meant to my family, my son’s in college and was recently home for Spring Break. He noticed right off the bat that I looked a lot thinner and I was telling him about my workouts. He was pretty impressed with what I was doing. My wife, although she sees me every day, tells me there’s a lot less to hug right now, which is a good feeling.”
The YPB Community
“The YPB community is very personal. It’s small, it’s very accessible through text, phone calls, what have you. The trainers, all of them, are very helpful, work with you, and challenge you.
I would recommend this program to anyone in their 50s or 60s who maybe have gone to a gym and dropped out or don’t know exactly what to do. Maybe they don’t like running anymore a whole lot because that’s perfect for someone within 10 or 15 years of my age.
If someone’s on the fence about joining, I would ask them to come over here, maybe talk to Lisa, get a copy of her book, take it home and read it. Discuss it with their spouse or significant other, and if she still has the trial going on, try that. If you don’t like it, you can move on, but I will promise you, you will probably like what you see here.”
